November 7th, 2011 - John has been cast to play the role of Sam's father in "GLEE" beginning with the 8th episode of this season. "GLEE" is on the FOX network on Tuesday evenings at 8 PM Eastern/ 7 PM Central. A date for this episode has not been released yet; however, if the show is on every week then the 8th episode will air on November 29.

Great things happening right now. Karis is tearing it up on the Volleyball court! She was awarded with a scholarship to a wonderful college. We are very happy about that! Chasen is loving every minute of his college experience in London (where the legal drinking age is 18). Mandy and Tres are having a baby, We'll be grandparents come January, and she will, no doubt, be the most beautiful baby the world has ever seen (to us for certain). Leah is working for the production company that is producing my new show on CMT "American Diesel" a show that celebrates people who make their living with diesel equipment (that's why I was on a shrimp boat for a week in the Spring.
I have Virginia Madsen and Lyle Lovett attached to "Backwater" which is scheduled to film in Oct/Nov of this year in Southern Louisiana. It's a dark yet hopeful story about Hospice care on the Bayou. I am very excited about this one because I wrote the screenplay and it was optioned by an outside production company. It's one thing to believe in your writing but another thing entirely when someone else does. I am honestly hoping for some Academy award buzz for both Virginia and Lyle for this one. It's going to be very good and very different. Not many films on the subject have ever been done.
I have enjoyed meeting up with many of you at the car shows and "cans" that I have been to this year. All good times for me. It's likely that I will be cutting way back on those in the future because of the film and promotion schedule that is coming up. Look for "Doonby" as well as "October Baby" to be out before the end of the year. Also a very campy and funny thriller called "Super Shark". Too Funny!

June 30th, 2011 - Sad News. For those of you who bought from John's webstore in the early 2000's thru June, 2008, you probably talked with Allen Stockman on the phone or in emails at times. You may have even met him at DukesFest or some other event. Maybe you remember seeing him sitting at the table in the tavern in the opening scenes of "Collier & Co." Allen was an extremely nice man. Allen passed this morning at his home in California. RIP Allen, you will be missed.

May 26th, 2011 - John is the host for a 90-minute show "Opry Memories" reliving the best of the Grand Ol' Opry. It is being broadcast in June on PBS stations across the US. Everyone will need to check their local PBS listings for the day and time in their area.
