Dear Mr. Schneider-

I’m sorry that this letter is so long, but I wanted you to understand why this Jacket is so important to me. During my summer break from college in 2005, I was home by myself while my parents were on vacation in North Carolina. I was bored, so I decided to watch some TV. An episode of Smallville was on so I decided to see if I’d like it. I don’t remember which episode it was that I first saw, but I do remember exactly how I felt. I saw your performance and said to myself, “that’s what I want to do.” My “Eureka” moment you could say. Since that night, all I’ve wanted to do is act. Your performances inspire me to push myself to fulfill my dream of working with you one day. I only hope to one day be half as good an actor as you are. In 2006 I purchased tickets to the 2006 Dukesfest, in the hopes that I would be able to personally meet you. The first day was coming to a close, and you and Tom Wopat had just stepped off of the stage and onto the back of a motorized cart of some sort. There were security guards posted here and there as you guys were coming off of the track. I spotted you as you were passing, so I bolted through security as fast as I could. I held out my hand and yelled “John.” I must have scared you because you were talking to Mr. Wopat at the time when you jumped. But being the kind person you are…you put your arm out and I was able to shake your hand. I was so happy that I immediately started crying. Ever since then, I try to make it to the Dukesfest every year.

A few months ago, I was browsing around your johnschneideronline.com web store when I came across your Collier & Co. Jacket. I realized that I had to have it, but I didn’t have any money. I applied for a PayPal credit card and waited until the last minute to place my bid. As soon as I found out that I had won the jacket I started jumping up and down like a little kid. It is the BEST investment that I have ever made. Seeing how the jacket belonged to you, I knew that I would have to make something special to protect and display it in. It took me a couple months, but I finally finished the display case personally hand making it out of beautiful cedar. I wanted you to know that the jacket will be taken care of.

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of the advice that you have given me and for the chance of owning a piece of inspiration from the one who inspires me. I wish you and your family the best.
